[WWI] Imperial Russian Nieuport 17 color?

The Mermaid plane was a French made Nieuport and painted with aluminum dope. 
The cowling was natural aluminum. Never mind the Eduard painting 
instructions. They have interpretated the only known  photo of the plane in 
a wrong way, I think There is not two colours on the cowling, just upper 
wing shadow making tricks.
