I disagree Neil. There are going to be better and better kits coming out. As
an example Eduard released those Fw-19*'s into a market already flooded with
Fw's. From what I hear it's a great kit with paint masks, pre-painted p/e
for the instrument panel etc. I expect Eduard's resin will just drop in if
you want to display the engine and gun bays. I fully expect all of this to
happen to WWI kits.
The molding technology is getting cheaper all the time. Look at all the
wonderful things that have become available in the last 10 years. I found a
Fokker Dr.I last night from Blue Max. The new ones from Eduard are going to
to be great! The Blue Max kit will be crude be comparison. We have new
Junkers D.I from Roden too. It's only a matter of time until we see a 1/48
Junkers J.I. I bet it will be as well done as Eduard's Brisfit.
I expect the 1/48 modeling boom to creep into 1/32 as modelers get older
with the accompanying poor eyesight. :-)
What I do fear is the growing trend towards pre-built models.
There are more great models in the future - don't worry!
Have a great one!
