<<You can sometimes find inexpensive punch sets in craft shops. I have a set with three sizes that pretty well cover my needs.>>
Thanks for the tip.
<<Regarding cockpits; I usually put in a seat, instrument panel, floor and control column and that's it. I never put in rudder bars etc. I guess it's a matter of how obsessed one is......>>
(1.) Obsession to produce the best possible model is one factor.
(2.) Ambition to win IPMS contests is another factor.
(3.) Fascination with the inner structure and workings of W.W.I. planes is another factor, whether reproduced in a tiny plastic model, a museum scale model with working features, a radio-controlled flying model, a pencil-and-paper scale structural drawing, computer aided artwork, photography, oil painting or a building a 1:1 reproduction.
(4.) Scale is another factor: no sense building it in 1:72 or 1:144 if nobody can see it (unless item 1,2 or 3 above applies).

Hi Jim,
You can sometimes find inexpensive punch sets in craft shops. I have a set with three sizes that pretty well cover my needs. Regarding cockpits; I usually put in a seat, instrument panel, floor and control column and that's it. I never put in rudder bars etc. I guess it's a matter of how obsessed one is......
Cheers,
Joel
