I agree D. I don't believe it is at all about our time. It's unique to our
time the now that this new-fangled internet is here. It's very human and I'm
glad of it. I believe the famous OT Christmas Football Game contains the
same sentiment. I've heard and read of soldiers lamenting for the men they
fought. They were very aware that they were the same: missing home, pissed
off they might die a virgin, wishing they were fishing etc and would
probably be friends if circumstances would allow it.
Even though you and I have never met face to face I know we'd be great and
fast friends if we were ever to meet. This list has shared the joys of
marriage, new babies and grand-babies. I know we've expressed sympathy over
friends we've lost as well as divorces or losses our list members have
suffered. I'm glad to associated with people like those on this list.
If any of you are ever in, or near, Boston I'd be glad to run down from New
Hampshire to walk around the hisoric areas. Or maybe a "wicked hard pub
crawl". ;-)
I think this list is great. It illuminates that which is best about us.
Brent
PS: I've had that dang "Wear Purple" song in my head all day. I shouldn't
have clicked the link! Thanks E. How did you find *that*?
