[WWI] First time playing with PE Spandaus

Very nice work, gentlemen.


I've done these in 1/48 before, from Tom's modelworks, and am about to 
do the guns for my 1/72 Eduard Dr.Is, with the PE parts that came with 
the kit.

I like both approaches, but would probably go with the sprue, purely so 
that you can fashion a hole in the end of it to make it look hollow, 
like a barrel.

With my 1/48 scale ones I actually used brass tube.

One point from your pics that caught my attention is that you don't 
paint the barrel or gun jackets before you roll them up?  Can you get 
good enough coverage of paint, especially on the inner surfaces of the 
jacket, without drowning it after it's all built?

I have all my parts already painted and ready for assembly.  I'm letting 
the paint cure for a good while before I bend and glue it all together.
