I just picked up a 400 yard reel of Trilene "SensiThin(tm)" 2lb 
monofilament the other day, 0.005" diameter.

I did a few tests using their recommended trilene knot and it makes good 
turnbuckles!  I got them to 3mm length, which would look reasonable on a 
1/48 kit.
