According to Bruce, the BE12a was first fitted with modified BE2e wings with
ailerons on the top wing only. The ailerons were overbalanced, and nearly
killed the test pilot. Standard BE2e wings were then fitted , and the type
designation became BE12Ae for a while, before reverting back to just BE12a.
That¹s as close as I can find for a BE12e

Subject: [WWI] Roden in processing
I was looking at the Roden site and noticed that the in processing section
seems to have been reduced. Or am I imagining it?. In 1/48 it only lists
the DH9, F2B Mk IV and BE 12e. The last is a bit of a puzzle as I cannot
find a BE 12e in my references and that includes Putnams aircraft of the
Royal Aircraft Factory. A BE12, 12a,12b and BE2e yes but no BE12e. The
picture looks like BE2c wings, not the uneven ones of a BE2e. There is no
mention of the other DH4 variants at all that are listed by Hannants as
future releases. Anyone know whats going on, have Roden cut back on the
programme?
