For those contemplating markings for 1/48 and 1/32 SPADs, I recently bought a large sheet of 1/32 SPAD 13 decals from FCM, the Brazilian company. I think I got it from Roll Models, but I don't remember for sure. Anyway, the sheet contains decals for Rickenbacker, Baracca, Charles D'Olive, Antonim Gauthier, and Michel Joseph Callixte. Aeromaster also put out a sheet of American 1/48 SPADs (five S.XIII and one S.VII), Sheet 48-075, as well as a SPAD VII sheet (Italo-French), Sheet 48-075A. Ministry of Small Aircraft Production also put out two sheets of SPADs VII and XIII.
Lots to choose from when the Eduard kit comes out, or, as noted, you can use the HobbyCraft 1/32. I'm planning on using the Special Hobby S.VII and part of 48-075A, either Demeuldre's SPA.84 white-fox-on-red-band or Martenot de Cordoux's "Grim Reaper." By the way, 48-075A includes decals for EIGHT SPAD VIIs, five French and three Italian.
