[WWI] Kids & models

I know my local model club Wings & Wheels based in W. Springfield MA has done a lot of make & takes with local organizations in the community such as the Springfield Boy's club and the New England Air museum, usually a good number of kids turn out and we always do snap tite kits so they will be able to go home with a finished model. We tried it once with 1/72 scale Academy corsairs that someone donated a case of, but no way to finish any of these even without painting in an hour or so (any longer will lose the interest of most of the kids). This is the best way I know of of getting kids interested in the hobby, although if they like it they will have to get the tools kits and supplies for themselves, so that's when it's the parent's turn to step up to the plate.

Warren:
You make some very good points. I don't know of many specific efforts ai,ed
at bringing younger modelers into our hobby. Certainly the one mentioned
earlier was a good one.
