Hello everyone
 
I've been putting this off for quite a time as I didn't feel qualified enough to talk to you as equals - I am not yet a modeller.
 
But Warren's requests for pics gave me an intro.
 
So, a quick bit about me and WW1. 
 
I fell in love with WW1 aircraft as a boy when there were only a few Airfix and Revell kits available (anything other than 1/72 doesn't count).  My goal then was to complete a kit in the shortest possible time and leave the paint to dry in front of the fire!
 
Despite using about three tubes of glue for each kit and gluey fingerprints obliterating all detail, each time I picked up a model, they fell to pieces.
 
Now, some 50 years on and with retirement on the horizon, I've decided to return to and nurture an old love.  I've amassed a collection of over 100 kits, some paint (Humbrol, what else?) and most of the clobber I need to start building.
 
Then, during my research, I found you guys.  And my confidence soared and crumbled at the same time.
 
A confidence builder in that there were other grown men out there who wanted to continue building the same stuff (albeit to a much higher standard) as they did when they were kids.
 
And a confidence destroyer when I came across such things as "I abandoned the project when I discovered the wing chord was too narrow".
 
I can find a lot of stuff telling what is wrong. Where do I go to find out what is right?
