Hi,
Not an expert by any means, but Humbrol has a colour system binder which
"tells" you how to mix the new colours to get the discontinued colours.
Here is what it says for WWI colours:
World War I
Colour name Humbrol
German Pale yellow Hu:94
German Green Hu:30
RFC Green 47*Hu:80 + 19*Hu:33 + 17*Hu:73 + 15*Hu:34
German Light Blue 20*Hu:14 + 10*Hu:34 + 1*Hu:99
German Purple 38*Hu:60 + 8*Hu:25 + 6*Hu:64
Clear Doped Linen Hu:74
Reference, IPMS Stockholm:

RFC Green seems to be a mixture of Grass Green, Wine, Black and White.
Whereas Humbrol 29 is described as Dark Earth.
The system binder might be worth a look at, because it has paint chips
for comparison. It seems to have been discontinued.
