So what type of Alcohol would you try experimenting with, Isopropyl or
Denatured? 
 
I wouldn't to be honest. Other than being alcohol based I don't really know
what's in Microsol and I wouldn't bother messing about with substitutes
which might work, or may just dissolve decals completely. There are plenty
of mail order companies that stock Microscale products so personally I'd
just order some. No hobby shops in my immediate area stock it so that's how
I obtain mine.
