The wood was done by brush, first with a base coat of PollyS brand acrylic 'dirty white', covered with a thin wash of Citadel brand 'flesh wash' and then with a burnt umber oil wash to try to make a weathered and worn appearance. It was my first (and only) attempt in using an oil paint...and I'm not sure if I would use it again. But thank you for the compliment!
