[WWI] SPAD XIII

Mike, everything I've read indicates that the metal parts were painted to closely match the fabric.
French "CDL" was more yellow and opaque by that time. It could apparently have a range from very pale to pretty intense. Weathering, aging and sheen differences would account for some variance between the fabric and metal surfaces in photos.
Yellow starts to look pretty dark in period photos once it gets too far from pale. More intense yellow will even look black.
Early SPAD 13s were finished the same as 7s.

Subject: [WWI] SPAD XIII
Hello Listees,
I am working on an Eduard 1/72 SPAD XIII, from the early version dual combo kit. I am going to do one of the French all CDL schemes. My question is, would the front of the fuselage be a yellowish color like the SPAD VIIs were? Some profiles I've seen show a darker color front portion and some don't. Any thoughts?
Thanks for the help.
Mike
