Pics 6,7,8 and 9 were take around the show. 6, 7, 8 are Dave¹s , he may be
able to say why they caught his eye. 2, 3, 4, 5 I took of Dave¹s more
unusual models, the labels are readable so you can see what they are. They
are all superbly rigged.
The Farman SS blimp on the Wombourne stand is a scratch build, made from
rolling strips of polystyrene wallpaper lining into tubes, gluing into the
rough shape, then sanding down. Apparently it took three months for the
house to be free of swarf¹ after that. I¹ve known Norman for years, and
learnt a few tricks from him, but I¹m not going to copy that technique.
The last picture is of my PV2bis, I¹m in the process of rigging it now, as
well as the PV2, which is just visible in the edges of 2 and 3. Dave bought
a PV2bis vacform off me, so I¹ll be interested to see how our efforts
compare.
One visitor asked me where I got the engines for the HP O/100, but it¹s
forty years since I scratched them, so I couldn¹t exactly remember.
regards
Steve

If I didn't spend so much time on line
I'd get some models finished
