[WWI] More Sub Confusion

Hmmm, Marc, it looks like YM (Yankee Modelworks, not Young Miss) has posted a new photo on their site.
Now the lower hull is all black. This agrees with the Osprey book, but contradicts both of the possibilities on their own instruction sheet.
I think I am leaning toward going along with the black hull now.... I could always undo it in the future if any intact WWI U-boats are brought to the surface or a color photo of one in drydock turns up.
The photo shows a definite dark waterline at least, and a black hull would be in keeping with the fact of black hulls being typical on early war, smaller German craft.

JR asked:
<<I see you went with the red hull on your model. Do you remember why
you went with that?>>

JR:

I painted it to match the model built by the manufacturer:

The red is much darker on my monitor. Probably should have used Tamiya
Hull Red.
