You can also lock the elevator in place and trim it for rudder only.
Properly trimmed it should climb with full power and cruise around half.
Have you looked inside? It sounds like you might have knocked off a
small retaining band that keeps the lead screw from shifting. I only
have surgical access to the radio in my Micro Drake, so I lightly
glued the bands in place before I sealed the fuselage.
