Simple, the only correct turn I took in life. Well, that statement is debateable.
First kit was an Airfix Dr.1 in red plastic, back in the days when your kit was supplied in a plastic bubble glued to some card with the instructions printed on the back. This was rapidly followed by the Camel and Pup, all 1/72. I even managed to rig them with my fathers help using cotton. The Dr.1 was built when I was five and the two Sopwith when I was 6. This was followed by the Hannover CL.III in which I attempted lozenge by dabbing with the paint brush. At this stage I discovered that there was more to modeling than simply squirting glue into the box and shaking it; I had a Bristol Fighter to which the paint refused to adhere.  Only then did I sidetrack into WW2 with a Bf109, Spitfire and Typhoon, Bristol Fighter, Hawker Fury. At that time I also discovered model railroading and model boats. And shortly free-flight. And the rest, as they say, is history. Now I stick to 1/48 or larger as my fingers are buggered from rugby.
