[WWI] Accents, in general

ASCII doesn't have an accent, so no problems, here. But to tell a tale on myself, a few yaers ago at the Chicago Figure Show (MMSI, show, Shep Paine's home club show) I was filling out my entry forms, and the guy next to me asked me  a question, which didn't sound like English, so I replied, mildly, "sorry, I don't speak German", to which he replied, hotly "that wasn't German, it was LIverpool!", to which I apologized again!
