Same here. That´s why I had to ask. 
In some ways I miss those days. I was younger, internet was exciting and I managed to complete a model now and then. 
It feels strange that the whole newsgroup thing probably just will be a paranthesis in the internet history, and that those thousands and thousands of messages, which opened up the world outside your own borders, soon will be forgotten. Sure there´s still a few newsgroups that are alive, but htey are becoming fewer by the month. If they had been replaced with something better, it might have been OK, but I´m not so sure about that when I visit some of the forums and communities of today.
