Thanks Graham,
I pretty much thought the Vector engines would need a bit of extra work to fit into the Eduard kits.
You're right, they really are nice enough for a stand alone.

I am currently working on the Special Hobbies Pfalz D.XII with plans on mounting the Vector engine. I will let you know how it fits. I have already made new cowl panels [vacuformed over the kit fuselage halves and trimmed] so I have extra room now that the panels are more to scale than kit. The Vector Mercedes is so nice that if it does not fit I will mount it on an engine cart and build it as a stand alone model. I have not compared the Special Hobbies D.III to the Eduard D.III but I think it is smaller. The Roden D.III engines are the correct size. In fact I stole the Mercedes from the D.VII kit I had to use in the Pfalz, but it got lost in a move of my work table to a new room. As far as fitting Eduard kits I think it will be doable with some thinning of the engine cowls. Now the Vector Mercedes will fit Roden kits easily as they are the same size as kit engine.

So, what's the consensus on the Vector Mercedes? Will it fit the Eduard kits without major problems? Gabe
