Hi Tom
Blue Rider used to produce a magazine which as your would expect
concentrated heavily on aircraft of the post war era. I don't think they
are in print any more but I have occasionally seen them at shows.
Regards
Dave

Subject: [WWI] Post War Book & Requests
Hi All-
I have for some time been interested in modeling late WW I and
early
post war subjects and have personally had a dearth of knowledge of
the turmoil in eastern Europe and Germany in that time. I have
finished reading a book which I can recommend highly to anyone
likewise interested. It is structured around the negotiations of
Versailles, but at it's core is a very readable discussion of the
political and military happenings in Germany and eastern Europe
immediately post-war. Details of the how and why of Polish,
Lithuanian, Latvian, Estonian, Hungarian, Czech political and
military events, and mentions of aircraft and naval actions are
included. I had trouble putting it down.
The book is- "The Kings Depart" The Tragedy of Germany:
Versailles
and the German Revolution, by Richard M. Watt, 1968, reprinted in
2001 by Dorset Press in soft cover. I purchased it locally for $6
USD in a used bookstore.
I have several of the Blue Rider decal sheets for this era and
cannot use all of the individual subjects so if anyone wants to
contact me off list for some swapping of individual decal subjects
for ones I don't have, LMK.
I have one good book in Russian with color on RCW aviation
subjects,
but nothing on the Polish or any other of the combatants other than
the recent Osprey offerings on armor of the RCW. The Blue Rider
sheets have good instructions, much like Dr. Merrill provided in
Americals with historical details. Can anyone suggest other
references for modeling inspiration?
Yes, I read too much and don't model enough ;-)
