Yes but that's why I posted many other pictures of other planes' wings.

<<The bottom line IMHO is that is depends on the a/c baing discussed, the finish used, and the scale being modeled.>>

Agreed. Although my findings tend to be similar for many wwi planes.

<<In the case of the Nie.11, and in you case specifically of modeling one in 1/48th I would say that the attempt would be worth it.>>

That's what I figured, since many modellers routinely sand all the detail off the wings and replace it with something. The issue is: just what is that "something"?

<<For some others probably not. Since I am attempting to build in 1/72nd, very little needs to be done, because very little of that detail can be seen. Make sense?>>

This time pay close attention to what the teacher says and try not to fall asleep in class again. I believe in you Warren. I'm pullin' fer ya. I know you can get your GED if you just hang in there.

Jim,
the rib stations and tapes on the Nie.11 are very prominent in the museum example you have posted. This is a subject that has caused debate in the past, just as how much curvature is there between wings, etc. The bottom line IMHO is that is depends on the a/c baing discussed, the finish used, and the scale being modeled.
In the case of the Nie.11, and in you case specifically of modeling one in 1/48th I would say that the attempt would be worth it. For some others probably not. Since I am attempting to build in 1/72nd, very little needs to be done, because very little of that detail can be seen. Make sense?
