Yes, this was probably a bad side-effect of my efforts to reduce the
'imposter spam' we've been getting. I removed the filter I added as it
was killing some good list mail too.

We don't have a rule per-se. The list population did eventually agree
that uploading your pics to a hosting site (like shutterbug, etc) and
posting that link in your mail was preferable to attachments. I left it
at that and I just turn the other cheek if someone posts the occasional
photo, as long as it's just the odd single photo. If someone starts
getting into the habit of posting photos I just send them a personal
e-mail asking them to use the upload/link method.

Mostly what this policy is trying to avoid is having the list become a
'look what I did last night' photo blog. We like it the way it is - as
mostly discussion. 

Hope that clears up the fog on that point.
