Thanks for the info.
  When I started modeling they were painted simply black.
  Then I moved to gloss black which was really awful.
  Recently I used blabk, mixed in bronze and a little aluminiun. I didn;t mix them too well and brush painted teh guns. I got a realtively satisfactory finish, but it still needs work
