Thanks Rob,
the prop was pretty simple, I used the kit prop, attached a piece of wire where the prop shaft attaches to use as a handle, and painted it a light ivory color (acrylic) for the base. When it dried, I used a dark brown Prismacolor pencil to draw in the darker layers. Next I gave it a thin glaze coat of artist oils - burnt sienna mixed with regular enamel paint thinner until it just covers the ivory but the darker lines can still be seen. I stuck the handle in a block of styrofoam and let it sit a few days until the oil paint dried completely. Then I gave it a couple of coats of Future to give it the clear varnished look. Saw some photos on the Aerodrome website and the later Axial props used on the D.VII were stained an overall color, the light & dark layers are not as noticeable as on the earlier props (such as Voss's F.1)
Hope this helps, an easy way to get a great looking prop.

That's a very nice job.

I like the propeller. How did you do that?

It is a bit odd that when the image loads it says its a sopwith 1.5 strutter,
but I guess that's a techie issue.
