James:
Thank you, I like your builds too (I really like the way you did the streaky Fokker camo on your DR.I's...beautiful!).
Thanks for the compliments, there are others on the list that make my work look like a novice!
I originally did do rigging on my models, but for about 10 months I lived oversea's in Thailand (my wife is Thai and she hit upon the crazy idea of moving there to be closer to her parents, but it soon became like the TV show "Everybody loves Raymond", but dubbed in Thai). Naturally I took my models with me. But because of the heat? humidity? The rigging snapped, sagged, etc. Maybe plastic stretches/constricts ever so slightly in tropical weather? I have no idea...but I ended up removing the ruined rigging and have never rigged since (even though myself, wife, kids and planes are all happily back in California now). Anyways, thanks for the suggestion, maybe I'll start rigging again one day with wire?
It seems humidity does indeed play a role in rigging integrity. I remember a listee saying that he rigged a large flyong boat in 1/72nd and everything was good, then when taken to an IPMS meeting noticing a sag in the rigging. Again very nice work and I am looking forward to future builds!
