I think it was really ingenious of him, thats why no one disputes that
Hunkers was a pioneer in all metal design.
Breguet used aluminium earlier, but the Junkers designs were much more
advanced.

Sorry List. But while I'm here, let me ask an OT question:
I just finished the first look at the Rodent Jinkers D.1 and made a
comment or two about how revolutionary it was, being all metal and
whatnot. But it got me thinking. I don't think anyone disputes that Hugo
Junkers was a pioneer in all metal aircraft design. But was it really
ingenious of him, or was it just inevitable, and he just happened to be
the first to get it offthe ground?
