Yes I did. This was one of my very early models, before I knew the
existance of Contrail and Strutz products. I think the struts were made
from plastic card.

Ah, the good old days - remember the old admonition from Rimell? 'Cut new 
undercarriage vees from card and shape'. Or sometimes 'make all new struts 
from sprue or scrap'.
