I saw your point before, I'm just curious as to why you'd deliberately model
something that's known to be wrong when you could just as easily model it
closer to the original. As I said in my posting, B & W pics of the seven
swabians D.VII clearly show it to be another colour than white which is how
the Rhinebeck D.VII is finished. So even if you model it as grey & brown as
is the current general consensus and then later find out it was light blue,
at least you were still closer than painting it white and you modelled it as
it was thought to be. The great thing about WWI aircraft is that, generally
speaking, anyone who tells you your model is the wrong shade of pink will be
as hard pressed to prove it as you are to prove otherwise because there
aren't that many colour photos from the period and no one had Methuen or FS
references back then. If you're bothered by the experts pointing out your
colours to be wrong at competitions then the answer is simple: don't enter
competitions!
