[WWI] Revell S.E.5a Kit

Didn't Roden do a SE5a in 1/72? I think they did, since they have one in 1/48 and 1/32. and their decals usually have enough markings for 4 or more aircraft, I'm sure someone on the list may have an extra McCudden one (if you want to use the red spinner!)
Another question, does anyone on the list have the 1/72 scale Americal Gryphon 56 Squadron sheet? This has markings for about 30 or more different SE's, and I'm sure someone somewhere will have at least one set of markings that they are not going to use. I usually use the markings from the top aces and always seem to have a bunch left over, but since I only do 1/48 scale I can't be of help with this one.
Good luck in your search,
Dave

There seems to be a huge problem in the market. Hannats had only the Blue Rider set for the Russian Civil War which includes an SE5a. This is strange

As noted, it contains two types of radiators, two types of propellers, and also has a spinner (presumably McCudden's LVG C.V variety). Tom compared it to his really old Revell S.E. and it's the same kit with the exception of the additional parts noted, but sans the old two-piece stand.

The markings are a problem, however. The kit has markings for a No. 111 squadron machine in Palestine and also a No. 143 (HD) squadron machine, but nothing that would make use of the spinner. The HD machine has a blue band with a white "2" in it. If it's C1805 (see Windsock S.E.5a Special, p. 16) then the band should be red, not blue.

I'll have to wait for my two kits to arrive next week to confirm this. Here's a question for everyone: I made a quick check of the Squadron website to see if they had any 1/72 S.E.5a markings and came up empty. Does anyone know of a decal manufacturer that can help us out here? (Ah, would that AG were still around!)
