Diego,
The engine is the Monosoupape, not the Salmson - there is a very good photo
in Windsock anniversary edition showing the position of these holes.
Why did I use a punch ?  it gives me much better control - it is easier to
centre,  and the edge of the hole is clean cut. If I use a drill, I would
have to clean up the fraying on the edge of the hole.  Also the plastic is
very thin - it started as 0.015 inch, probably .002 after stretching.
To punch, I first punched a hole in a dark-blue masking tape and stuck it to
the outside, then I placed the piece upside down over a piece of basswood
and I could see  the outline of the hole, so I could position the punch
easily.
