Some people were having trouble with the list 'getting mad' at them and
bouncing their mail to it. One of the settings I changed loosened up
restrictions on attachments of all kinds. Since this is a
subscription-only list, we haven't had any trouble with SPAM so I
figured that change was ok from a technological standpoint. I hadn't
anticipated people catching on and starting to post images to the list
as a result of it.
Personally, I don't have trouble with people attaching reasonably-sized
(say up to 800x600), SINGLE images to list mail. I'd very much like to
not have people posting whole model builds via e-mail, that's what the
website is for.
I'm open to anyone's objection to e-mail to the list with attachments.
In the past it's always been forbidden, but I think in the last 12 years
the average e-mail client and network connection has vastly improved so
possibly that old restriction is as antiquated as the technology that
required it.
I'd like to hear the list's opinion on this and make a decision based on
the majority, as long as nobody that's currently a list member, has any
valid technological reasons why this should still be banned.
