[WWI] OT question: Artillery Tractor or Truck

Karen,
Thanks.

The 155GPF weighed just over 12 tons in travel mode, so I need something in the heavy truck/tractor category --
sorry, but neither 6 nor 8 horses are going to hack it ... I don't think any vehicles I saw on these websites fit the bill,
although they are interesting. Since the ADV/Azimut kit was an impulse buy, I didn't put the time into figuring out the DES
version was 40% less ... bummer.

Anyway, I'm still looking for a prime mover. I have narrowed probable vehicles down to:
-- Tractor, Half-Track, Artillery, 15-ton (Holt/Caterpillar 75hp)
-- Tractor, Full-Track, 10-ton, Armored (Ordnance/Holt)
-- Truck, 4x4 Renault EG
-- Truck, 4x4 Latil TAR

Other interesting vehicles to complement this would be the F.W.D series 3-ton trucks for supplies & ammo.

A couple of interesting websites ...

Still looking,

Take a peek at Panzershop:
http://www.panzershop.cz/inshop/

filter by era-WWI, and you'll find 1/35 kits of 2 different Italian
trucks by Cri.El, and a Mack Bulldog.
Also available elsewhere (http://www.redlancers.com/minilistout.asp?
subcat=1671&mfg=570&page=1) are 3 Berliets, a Nash Quad, and 2 Pierce
Arrow cargo trucks from CGM/Adrian. Better have deep pockets.

You might want to compare the Azimut kit with the DES kit of the
155mm in WWI guise-#35046

and to make it *really* authentic, you'll need the 6-horse team to
pull it-#35071
