Careful with that... this is a nice repro, but very unlikely the real 
Nieuport 11 would have had "painted" solid yellow finish as this one. 
Chances are that these Italian bebes were imported from France, on which 
case the cloth would have been doped clear or very slightly yellowish 
transparent dope, resulting is a near white appareance. If a Macchi built 
N11 (I would have to check the serial number) the finish is also a very 
light, something studied in some depth by Alberto Casirati in his articles 
in Windsock magazine. In any case, photos of the actual airplane show -from 
what I can recall now- a very light finish. We can assume it's lighter than 
this repro colour, whatever the reasons behind this paint scheme. Of note 
are that the undercarriage legs and cabanes were also probably unpainted 
steel or even light blue. Would be atypical if they were painted in a CDL 
matching colour.
Also, the turtledeck on Nieuport 11s were stringered... but covered by a 
sheet of plywood, with the result that the stringers didn't showed up below 
the linen skin as in this one.
