I'm tired. A quick whirlwind trip up the California coast to Paso Robles on Friday. Up early Saturday, head over to the Paso Robles airport for a long day's saturation with OT and not so OT airplanes. Before my senile old video camera decided to completely go to gaga land, I managed to shoot something one doesn't see everyday- a Sopwith Tabloid with LeRhone starting to taxi on a grass runway while an actual Japanese Zero is taxing in the other direction, having just landed on a paved strip.
Yep.......got invited again to the Antique Aero bar-b-q. Saw 'em fly a Camel, Tabloid and SE5a, all with real engines. The Hisso in the SE5a, so smooth running and with long exhaust manifolds is such a contrast to the barking belching rotaries. The sun shining through the Tabloid's wings........
I have enough inspiration to last a long time.
