Here is a question; how often was the opening in the top wing covered? What material was used on the aircraft? The reason being I always thought that teh cut-outs were simply that; cut-outs

A thing of beauty, Jeff. Weathering looks fine to me too, even if I would 
have chosen other markings (those indian heads ain't flattering for the 
Ni17s)
