[WWI] Another F2b question, barely OT

I'm making up an Aeroclub F2b as a Mark IV. To keep it roughly OT, I'm doing
one that was a 1918 airframe later brought up to Mark IV standard. I know
most of the changes needed, but 2 remain:

1). Since this will be a wartime airframe later painted silver, does anyone
have an informed opinion as to whether the fabric would be simply
overpainted, so I can leave the inside CDL, or would it have been recovered,
using salmon pink/red primer?

2). The pilot had a metal seat, square in plan view, and I assume much like
any other '20s and '30s fighter seat. Does anyone have any other idea as to
shape? There's a side view in the Datafile special, part 2, taken from the
relevant Air Publication. It's just a dotted outline, so not terribly
helpful.

If anyone can help, better take it offlist as these mods are definately
post-war.
