Hi used Harry Woodman method with good results, using very fine copper
wire. It is illustrated here:

IIRC I used the plastic from a cotton swab secured in one end in a motor
tool and rotated by hand.
Long time ago I bought a roll of copper wire in an electronics store, it
will last several time lifes.

Then glue them into stacks alternating small and larger circles until you get the correct height. With a closed cowl Nieuport 17 you will not even have to worry about doing the cylinder heads as this will never be seen inside the cowl. For a N. 11/16/21 you are on your own here!
> 2. Another method that I have read about is to use fine thread machine screws the proper width of the cylinder. Cut off the end with a Dremel motor tool and trim them to the correct legnth, then cut off the cylinders molded on the kit engine and super glue these ones on. The thread angle is so fine that it is almost impossible to see the angle on the finished model.
