[WWI] JMGT SPAD XII C.I

A good summary from Rick, praised and panned it was!
I thought Ray was a little cruel, I mean what else can a kit maker
do than follow the best plans available, publishing new plans at
the same time as you review the kit is like changing the rules as you
go.
OTOH it's an expensive kit, and it's fairer to the purchasers (us) to
give us all the available information, so I'm certainly not complaining.
In any case just looking at the new plans, I couldn't see any visible
difference form the old ones, it's still got the longer sportier
fuselage
compared to a standard Spad, I think the wingspan is greater now,
although
how Doug reached that result is beyond me, but I don't doubt it.
The question is whether a kit built from the old plans would be visibly
wrong?
I'd love to do another Spad 12 from the new plans.
In fact I think I have a Pegasus kit somewhere, I should do some
comparing.
/Neil

I think this kit was mentioned briefly a couple of months ago first. It
was
again mentioned in the last week or two reference a review in Windsock.
Generally speaking the kit follows the old Data file plans quite well.
These
plans are now considered inaccurate so the kit was praised and panned at
the
same time :-) This is of course from my memory of the conversation on
the
list and could be faulty!
Rick G.
PS: WAY TOO rich for my blood also!
