[WWI] Q about seat belt colors.

Hi all - I need some information from the Fokker experts.

It appears that the shoulder straps/seatbelts used in Fokker Dr.I's were a very dark color - much darker than the beige or off-white color that I expected them to be.

I know that they would get flithy from use (and that would certainly affect how they look) but to me their overall color looks to be very dark - darker than the green used on the outside of the aircraft or the leather used on the cockpit coaming.

What color to you folks think they were?  Black?  Dark gray?  Dark brown?  Something else maybe?
