For dusting I use a dedicated #12 Round camel hair brush. It is never to be used for anything else but dusting, but has to be a high quality artist's brush. I tried camera brushes, but they were too awkward. Anyway, I have used it to dust 1/700 scale ships, 1/48th Bipes, 1/72 other war stuff , 54mm Napoleonic Wars figures, and 1/20 scale F1 cars, no problems. Occasionally I will knock something off with my clumsiness, but it is rare, anymore.

Thanks for the comments chaps.

To answer Mike's query re rigging material; I used monofilament. The fraying is actually dust fluff. Agh! Well spotted Mike. I shall have to move up a scale again, clearly the eye sight is failing. I gave the model a once over and took the photos and filed. Normally all my worthwhile models are kept in a couple of glass fronted cases which although not airtight keep most of the dust and all of the fluff off. The Pfalz has been to a number of shows and seems to have picked up quite a bit of detritus which my casual blow (eh?) didn't shift. On a serious note any listees got a best method of dusting. I find that some fibres seems to have tenacious adhesive qualities. There was an article a few years ago in SMI about a system that used dust mites to eat the dust but I have yet to see it in the shops. I looked at other Pfalzs in the gallery when I had posted and was interested to see how many there are. The permutations on Holtzem's aircraft would raise a few eyebrows at an R/C competition, or not score many points.

Paul; Six months of blood sweat and tears was all it took. Actually just 6 months of modelling. I'm not fast! It was quite painless though and very enjoyable. Now you really must detail the funfdeckers interior, how difficult can that be in your digit-less state?

Andy: I went with lozenge on the lower wing as in the Datafile photo's (of very poor quality) p11 there is a clear demarcation along the wing and fillet divide which to my eye looked like a change from lozenge to silbergrau. Having said that there are other pictures (of other Pfalz DIIIs & DIIIas) which there is a shade change but appear to be all silbergrau. Oh and dare I say it but this combination looks rather fetching. This ambiguity is the static modellers escape clause & the R/C modellers doom! My datafile does not contain any colour profiles of Holtzem's aircraft. Is there another edition or did the profiles get published in Windsock?
