Thanks, Dave. Thanks to D also for the ideas.
However, I also had trouble with the white and my overpainting made it
look like crap. I'll have to carefully sand down the roundels (without
effecting the camo) and redo.

Hi Matt,
Sorry for posting 5 days later but I've been too busy to read my
digests lately... anyway a solution to the Americal Gryphon white is
simple - I mixed up a bottle of red with a little black until it
matched the Americal decals perfectly - I put a spot of my mix next to
the roundel on the sheet and let it dry until I got a pretty close
match. A fine brush and paint properly thinned will allow you to hand
paint the red portion of the roundel where the white shows through and
get an almost perfect red circle. a coat of dull will seal it and
blend it in with the red ink. I have done this in 1/48 scale, should
be able to do it with the 1/72 scale decals as well.

Ah, the dreaded red circle ghost on the Americal decals, right? I
recall
that applying a second decal on them was one of the advices given at
the
time.

We should be certain of its fate by January 1st,2008, 00:00. No later!
