[WWI] Stoopid Ship Questions

The screws were bronze and this alloy doesn't corrode. So yes, they would've remained bronze. Any leaching of metal leading to hydroxide deposits would've been removed by teh actin of the screw in the water. Well, my humble opinion based on seeing lots of marine screws.
As for the other questions, I have seen anchors painted black. These often did not erquire an oxide coating, so were never painted red. As a guess I would say leave it metal.
As for the boats being white with a wood interior, I would hazard a guess and sy that is probably corect. The Emden was caught away from its home port at teh start of teh war. I would suggest therefore, taht she would've remained in her peacetime colour scheme, to a geater or lesser extent. As opportunities arose, or repairs became neccessary, colours would've changed. It is very likely that at some point grey paint may very well have become availble to paint the boats. But personal feeling is to leave them white.

I've been working on the Revell Emden, and a few questions have arisen. This is my first military ship model since I was a kid, but I am finding this project a nice change of pace and am looking forward to doing more subs and ships.
I've done some online and book research and gathered together a number of photos of Emden (There were a lot of photos of the wreck taken from many different angles, so that you could do a great diorama of that event-maybe someone has already)
Anyway, are the German naval colors assigned an approximate F.S. number anywhere? There is a color chart on the Tanner site, but it is from WW II, and I can't trust that it isn't faded or that my printer is doing it justice.
The Revell instructions say the boats were always white with wood interiors, but they don't look white in one of the wartime photos. Were they painted grey in 1914? Overall?
They also say to paint the anchors "steel", but wouldn't those have been painted as well?
Do brass propellers (ok, screws) stay brass in seawater, or do they corrode?
And finally, where can I get 3-rail PE railing in 1/350th?

                        Thanks for the help!
