Greetings,
I'm still about a month off from pulling out all of the modeling
paraphernalia but, I have started researching for a project I'm interested
in.
I can't believe that I'm going to do this to myself again!... I'm going to
use one of my Revell Nieuport 17's and convert it into Nungesser's 17 bis.
My reference is a photo in an old Airpower magazine (Sept. '73) and while
I'm still trying to interpret the stripes on top of the fuselage (the photo
is a little misleading) my question concerns this aircraft's powerplant.
The article says that the 17 bis had a 135 hp (130?) Clerget engine in it.
I was wondering if this would be the Clerget 9B? If this is the case then
I am set with a spare from the Flashback Sopwith 1 1/2 strutter.
Any information on this aircraft would be greatly appreciated and I Thank
all in advance for any input.

Take care
Scott
