[WWI] Masking Problems Scotch Tape

Personally I'm a die-hard fan of Bare Metal Foil for masking. A bit pricey,
but one sheet will go a long way and you can't get a thinner masking
material. It won't create ridges, at least with an airbrush - I've never
tried it with brush painting. It does leave a bit of adhesive residue but
this is very easily cleaned off with WD-40 or mineral spirits (the latter is
best using acrylics obviously or it will remove your paint as well).
We have 5 cats so rubbing tape on ANY surface is just not an option unless
you like cat hair in your paint job!

Andy,
I've never had a problem with it. There's really no "fluff", just pant
fibers. Like I said, I use jeans, I other material will produce fluff. Only
problem is doing it too much and/or too hard and the tape doesn't stick very
well. I've never heard of the nose grease method, though. Will have to try
it
I have started to use Silly Putty thought for other applications and it
seems to work alright. I think Testors ( or someone) makes a grennish
masking tape. There is also a painters masking tape, it appears pretty thin.
