[WWI] masking problems

hello everyone,

work is progressing on my eindecker.......
I'm having problems with my masking technique though, I have tried tamiya masking tape, post-its, and eduard ez masks but I just can't seem to avoid a raised "ridge" between the 2 colors when I pull the tape away. Can anyone suggest a good technique for avoiding this (I brush paint by the way) and the best way to deal with it when it happens.
