That´s right, the wounded rubber strip delivers a strong burst of power initially that stalls the model if not cured. Usually modelers tilt the propeller shaft to one side (sidethrust) to have the model turning while climbing, which kills the stall. If it is not enough and the model is already tight circling, the propeller shaft is also tilted down (downthrust) and this is most likely to fix the problem forever, unless the model have design or construction faults.
