Matt Kessler is in search of good reading!
Well, lately I have been into reading collections of letters that have been
printed. They show an amazing amount of personalilty for a lot of the
writers, not all of whom sutrvived the war. I particulalry liked "Wings Over
the Somme" by Gwyllim Lewis (DH-2 and SE5a's), "The Price of Honor" by
Kenneth Macleish (US Naval flyer killed in combat flying a Camel), and "A
YAnkee Ace in the RAF" by Bogart Rodgers (US Pilot in SE5a's. Also, "No
Parachute" by Arthur Gould Lee is beyond terrific. As for histories, I
finished "Hat in the Ring" by Bert Fransden a few months ago and he really
got into some interesting stuff about the USAS and the conflict within its
structure between RFC?RAF trained officers and French trained.
