Dave Fletcher says:  "I thought we had beaten vegemite to death, along with a certain cowling..."

I doubt that vegemite can be killed by beating.  TNT, dynamite will probably prove useless.  Perhaps only the heat of the surface of the sun may accomplish it!

As to "a certain cowling". . . . . I seem to recall seeing a much copied photo of Voss' triplane somewhere that, to the perceptive eye, included in the background some daisies of the Bellis species, particularly Bellis Perennis, of the family Asteraceae,
which would lead one to believe the match of the yellow center of the flower is indisputably that of the cowl.  ;-)
